  • Currently out of the office.
  • I retired at the end of August, 2021, and was granted emeritus status by the Elmhurst University Board of Trustees on October 15, 2021. What’s next? Who knows?!

  • I was off-campus in 2017-2018, pursuing a sabbatical project and carrying out my Fulbright-Nehru grant proposal, Collaboration in Teaching and Learning Music in South India, as a visiting professor at Madras Christian College in Chennai, India.

  • 2016 J-Term in IndiaFrom the Big Temples to the Silver Screen: The Music of South India (MUS 492/495) January 6-30—Three weeks in South India working with Indian musicians and scholars, visiting historic, religious, and cultural sites in Bengaluru, Belur, Chennai, Mamallapuram, Pondicherry, Thanjavur, Tiruvaiyaru, & Thillaisthanam. Led by Elmhurst Professor Mark Harbold, Pt. Dr. Nagarajrao Havaldar (in Bengaluru & Karnataka), and Professor Suri Purushotham, faculty coordinator at Madras Christian College (in Chennai & Tamil-Nadu).
